About Me

Kevin Moran is a bestselling, award-winning children's author and primary school teacher from Castlebar, County Mayo. His first novel The Doomsday Club (The O’Brien Press, 2025) won the Eilís Dillon Award at the KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards 2026, was runner-up in the Great Read Awards 2026 and was shortlisted for Children’s Book of the Year (Senior) at the 2025 An Post Irish Book Awards. He was also one of Ireland’s World Book Day authors for 2026.

Kevin has appeared at the Hinterland Festival, West Cork Literary Festival, Children’s Book Festival and Dublin Book Festival, as well as numerous school, library and bookshop visits with pupils from 3rd Class to 1st Year.

He was runner-up in the Staróg Prize for children's fiction in 2023. When not writing, he can often be found on the beach near his home in Dublin, being walked by his surprisingly strong golden retriever.
